A letter from Mary Jean Eisenhower
The president of People to People International
August 1, 2005
Dear Mr. Cao,
It was with heartfelt sadness that I read your letter and learned of Sharon's recent passing. On
behalf of the Board and staff of People to People International, please accept our deepest
condolences for your great loss.
We consider every
member, whether a first-time Student Ambassador,
Trustee or lifelong participant, an invaluable part of PTPI's global family.
The loss of one member affects us all.
When my grandfather founded People to People
International, he did so with the belief that people can make a
difference one friendship at a time. I am confident
that although we were not blessed with the gift of time with Sharon, the
impact she made will be felt for many years to come
through the friendships she formed and the hearts she touched.
Many thanks for your generosity in sharing such a beautiful
message with the People to People International staff. It is our belief that together we
can enhance international understanding and friendship through educational; cultural and humanitarian activities: Your
kindness reminds us of our role in promoting Peace through Understanding.
We will keep Sharon close in our hearts.
God Bless,
(Signed)
Mary Jean
